Diego Costa trained alone Sunday and Monday as the rest of the Chelsea squad received a break after their 3-0 win at the King Power.
After being omitted from the Chelsea squad Saturday allegedly due to a conflict with a fitness coach, following which manager Antonio Conte got involved deciding to punish his striker. It is rumored that Conte yelled “Go to China!” after their quarrel.
Costa has recently been linked with a Chinese Super League club, Tianjin TEDA F.C. It is reported that the Chinese outfit have offered the striker £575,000 a week, over £30 million a year after taxes.
The Blues player posted an Instagram post in support of his current club and it remains unclear whether Costa will leave Chelsea in this January transfer window it looks increasingly likely that he will leave in the summer window.
Chelsea’s medical staff are due to check up on him on Tuesday and if he is declared fit he should rejoin his teammates in preparation for their upcoming Premier League clash with Hull City.
Costa pushed for a return to his former club Atletico Madrid this summer but was pursuaded to stay and has contributed 14 league goals this season, tied with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Tottenham’s Harry Cane, and Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the most in the Premier League.
